Are you sure?

A few weekends ago I stayed up all night because I had a paper due. That particular weekend I had the kids and found it impossible to write. So, as soon as they went to bed I began working on the paper. Next thing I knew it was 5:30 in the morning. Ironically the kids were up by 7am begging for breakfast.


Isn’t that always the way?

I put just about everything I had into that paper and was very anxious to find out my grade. I was praying for an A but my low confidence was screaming C.

It took a few days before I received an email from my Professor. I was so shocked when I saw the words Grade: 100%.

Seriously, I could not believe it. I looked at my computer for a very long time just trying to process it all. I felt butterflies in my stomach and I am pretty sure time stood still. I happened to be at work and my coworker tapped me on the shoulder and said “Are you ok Crystal?” She said I looked like I just saw a ghost. I just pointed to the screen and she simply said “You go girl!” which left me inches away from crying.

I was so tempted to email the Professor back and ask him “Are you sure?”

This grade means everything to me; I cannot even begin to put it into words for you.
